Camper of the Year

What The Camper of the Year Is

Camper of the Year

Camper of the year is not a summer camper, but a recognition award.  Camper of the Year Awards are presented annually to volunteers and staff for outstanding service in achieving the mission of Cal Pac Camps.  The first Camper of the Year Award was presented to Andrew Partch in 1983.  In 1991 an additional award was added to recognize the contributions of professional staff.  Finally in 1996 the decision was made to recognize two volunteers annually, one for contributions in camp programming and a second for contributions in the development of our camp facilities.

Campers of the Year receive an individual plaque recognizing their service and their name is added to the cumulative plaque displayed at annual conference and kept in the offices of Cal Pac Camps.  Annual recipients along with their family and friends are invited to special recognition dinner honoring this achievement.
